Esther Tee
Although Esther is the queen of a Gentile nation, she is a Jew by birth. Hadassah, Esther's Hebrew name, means “myrtle,” like an evergreen; myrtle symbolises peace, joy, generosity, and justice. Her Persian name, Esther, means “the star.”
Reading the book of Esther assures us that God is not oblivious to our trials. Esther helps us train our eyes to see God at work through faithful people in unfaithful situations. He raises up a people for such a time as this She risked her life so that they may have life. It was only through her intercession that God's people were saved. And so, Jesus does the same for us that Esther did for her people. Jesus is/was willing to give up His life so that we might live.
